Best Version of Me

Selfie portrait, taken on Thursday 29th December 2022 using my 2020 iPhone SE.

I’m pretty happy with the above selfie. And that is quite a thing to say for someone who has historically hated taking photos of themselves or being photographed.

In the past, I would always see something I disliked or that made me cringe.

My facial expression. My lack of smile. My awkwardness. My skin. My hair (or lack of).

You get the drift. I didn’t feel good about how I looked.

That has changed over the last few years. I still get the occasional cringe, but on the whole, I don’t dislike myself now.

Since I’ve shed the flab and improved my overall health, I feel pretty good when I look at myself on most days.

Getting more sleep regularly has reduced the bags under my eyes. My skin is in much better condition now. And my worry lines aren’t as prominent.

There are a few things that could be improved, but nothing that would require drastic intervention or expense. I’m content to gradually change my routines, see what works, and work with my body rather than around it.
