And a merry Christmas to you too, Apple (ugh!)

Screenshot from my 2020 iPhone SE this morning, showing the maximum battery capacity at 91% and an Important Batter Message from Apple above it.

I’ve not checked my battery settings on my 2020 iPhone SE for a while, and was disappointed to see that it’s now down to 91% and Apple are advising me to get the battery replaced.

Admittedly, this phone was a Grade C refurbished unit and is over two years old now, but the battery was 95% capacity when I got it. The reduction appears to have happened since I upgraded it to iOS 16. Make of that what you will.

I’m not in any rush to get it repaired, I’ll wait and see how it changes over the next few months. If I do need to get it repaired, I’d need to get a cheap handset to use in the interim — perhaps even a dumbphone, since I’d only need it for phone calls and text messages. Who knows, maybe I’ll get a liking for the simpler life?
