Not All Keyboards Are The Same

Why Keyboard Shortcuts don’t work on non-US Layouts and how Devs could fix it

My keyboard is UK layout (obviously), and to date I’ve not come across any of these issues, but I can see how they’d annoy the heck out of other users.

This reminds me of the time in the early 1990s when I was doing work-experience at ICL in Bracknell at their Office Systems division. One of my tasks there was to set up and manage systems for testers of the non-English versions of their software, and making sure that bug reports were being seen and acted on.

Reading the linked article, however, I get the impression that the inclination and effort to internationalise web apps are in short supply.
