'The Correspondent' Shutting Down On 31st December 2020

I’m saddened to hear the news report from NiemanLab, but not surprised. I was one of those who subscribed initially, but I ended up being among those who chose not to renew.

I think their biggest problem was that they overpromised at the beginning, and lost a lot of trust when they had to admit their much more modest proposal. And while the level of reporting and writing was good, I was put off by their over-eagerness to persuade me to visit and read every day.
