Giving up on Apple Books app

This morning, I pulled all of my non-iBook content out of the Books app and into my iCloud Documents folder.

I’ve tried to love Books, but the sad fact remains that it’s a seriously bad app for actually organising and reading books.

I’ve no great love for Amazon, but at least they put some effort into making the Kindle app decent. I have to wonder if anyone at Apple uses Books.

I did a test last night on my iPad, and I can open and read PDF files from the Files app. So that’ll be my reading setup for most of my ebooks from now on.

(Sidenote: yes, I’ve used Calibre in the past, but nowadays I mostly keep it around for converting between formats.)
