We had the funeral service for my Dad today. Private family event, plain coffin, no religious ceremony, no flowers, no public announcement, as he’d requested. They do the download of your data in two separate parts, a summary version followed by the full data. They don’t try too much to guilt-trip you into staying. It dawned on me the other day that it is coming up for 30 years since I first got online. Needless to say, the world was a lot different back then!
I’m trying out* Linux Mint 19.1, and it’s not bad. (*In a virtual machine on my Mac, before anyone gets too excited.)
Today, I’ve discovered that: I have way too many USB cables. It helps if the container you’ve stored them in is airtight. #idontlikedusting
So 2018 is now in the rear-view mirror—and good riddance to it.
